Birds love it

My birds love this seed and even the yellow finch birds eat this and it does keep the tree rat away. Thank You Cole's.

So many birds

I was gifted this from a friend and have never seen so many birds. My cats love to watch them at the feeder and the birds love it! Even if I’m late a week refilling it they come back right away hungrier than ever. Love it!

My birds won't eat this

Can anyone tell me why none of our birds will ear this? Did wonders with the squirrels (no interest in it at all) but the birds not only won't eat it, but even when I switched it out for other seed, they are still shy of the feeder and haven't eaten much today. I put the blazing hot in another feeder to see if any chickadees, north carolina wrens, sparrows, mockingbirds or cardinals would go to the hot stuff. Not one. It may not be best for us to use this since we have rabbits and opossums in the yard, too, but the squirrels have been driving us to it. Any thoughts on why our birds won't eat any of it? It is a new bag, not musty.

We are sorry to hear that Blazing Hot Blend did not meet your expectations. What you describe is not that uncommon when introducing any new food or feeder to your feathered friends. Here's a great Link to explain the phenomena in a little more detail:https://youtu.be/JydeQYI1mssIn short, when you introduce a new seed in the feeder that looks different in color or form from what you previously offered - like going from a mix to a straight seed or offering orange colored when you usually serve regular seed - the change can temporarily confuse the birds. As a result, sometimes it can take a few days to a couple weeks for your backyard birds to recognize the new hot seed offerings as a viable food source. Most songbirds are very visual and any change to a feeder's look or contents can cause a temporary decrease in bird activity. Once they get past the change and try it out, you will see a significant increase in bird visits and maybe even a few species you've never seen before! Of course and as always, if you are not completely satisfied with any Cole's product, we will be happy to facilitate a refund for you with the store where you purchased our product.

Blazing Hot Winner

The squirrels were attacking the bird feeder attached to my kitchen window. No fear at all when I yelled at them and hit the window with a wooden spoon. Then I tried Cole's Blazing Hot Blend. I was afraid the birds wouldn't like it, but big surprise. The feeder is visited by every bird in our area from the tiniest chickadee to a family of very fat blue jays, and several families of magnificently red cardinal daddies one of whom I actually saw feeding his waiting wife in a nearby tree. Just ran out of the seeds, so I'm ordering another today before the gang starts screeching.

Cole's Blazing Hot Blend

Very disappointing and a total waste of money. Including tax, I spent $40.00 on a bag of this. It definitely repels squirrels; but the birds won't touch it. I put it in 2 different feeders and put blueberries on the feeder to entice the birds. But after a week, the birds still won't get near the feeders. I give it a Zero rating.

We are sorry your purchase didn't meet your expectations. We urge you to give it a little more time. It is not uncommon for bird visits to temporarily dip when introducing a new food source - especially if the new seed looks different in form or color from what you were serving before. Blazing Hot Blend gets a cold review

Tried this seed blend in 3 different feeders and my backyard birds wouldn’t touch it.

Our “go to” Cole’s bird seed

Not only does it keep the squirrels away, but it attracts beautiful birds…gold finch, blue birds, cardinals, woodpeckers, chickadees, purple finch, etc. We used to have squirrels jumping from our deck to the birdfeeder. But since using this seed, they have departed to the woods! Pricey but worth it!

Great Product

We live in a neighborhood that is right next to a greenbelt an areas of woods on 1 acre lots. We had been fighting the squirrels for a few years and of course they ate more than the birds. We decided to try Coles Blazing hot seed about 3 years ago and to be honest I was not sure it would deter these squirrels. First feeding you can bet I was keeping an eye on it and sure enough here they come. Honest , they all took a mouthful and couldnt get down off that feeder fast enough......some even just jumping to their death (not really). They were shaking their heads and truley did not like it. They never came back, until I ran out of the hot seed and had to pick up a small bag of regular seed until I got more. They came right back....unbelievable. Got the hot seed and gone again. Yes its more expensive but the amount of seed you go through via squirrels is much more . Good trade off for me........It works

Works for me

I'm happy to report it does the trick on discouraging pest squirrels and swamp rats. When I first loaded it in the feeders, the squirrels went for it like the other seeds... but then they get this look of panic on their faces and literally run away looking for water. The birds love it. We have Finches, Wrens, Titmice, Cardinals, Buntings and Woodpeckers visiting regularly. The birds love it. We haven't caught a mammal feeding at our feeders in months.

Love it But….

Love this seed, squirrels that live near me don’t like it! One thing, thought the seeds wouldn’t germinate but I’ve now got a sunflower growing!
